Court Mode: Swiss court-compliant anonymization

Shield's Court Mode follows the Swiss court anonymization standard (Stand August 2016). Parties become A.____, B.____ in order of appearance. Street addresses are anonymized while preserving PLZ and city. Legal entity suffixes (AG, GmbH, SA) are preserved. Smart preservation rules keep judges, lawyers, and court officials named.

Document Classification Mode

Beyond courts. Shield classifies entities in contracts, compliance reports, HR files, and financial documents into five protection categories: PII Standard (DSG/FADP), Sensitive PII (DSG Art. 5 lit. c), Client ID (Art. 47 BankG), Own Secrets (Art. 162 StGB), and Third-Party Secrets (Contractual / NDA; Art. 162/273 StGB; UWG). Each category maps to a specific legal basis.

Smart preservation logic

Not everything should be anonymized. In Court Mode, Shield's preservation rules ensure judges, lawyers, and court officials retain their names. In Document Classification Mode, protection is category-based. Both modes understand context and produce transparent, reviewable entity decisions with confidence scores.

Zero persistence architecture

Shield processes documents entirely in memory. No database. No disk writes. No content logs. When processing completes, the document data ceases to exist. This isn't a policy. It's architecture. There is no data to breach because there is no data stored.

Local-first deployment

Shield runs on your infrastructure. Air-gapped deployment with fine-tuned local NER + LLM models requires no internet connection. On-premises Docker for organizations with existing container infrastructure. Managed secure cloud on Swiss infrastructure for those who prefer hosted solutions. Still zero persistence.
